Fall – It’s That time of Year

It’s that time of year

When the trees begin to drop their

Thick coats of leaves

And we don our coats of warmth.

It’s that time of year

When birds gather together

And swoop and swarm

In graceful acrobatic motions

Practicing for their long

flight south.

It’s that time of year

When pumpkins turn orange

On the vine

And wait in frosty anticipation

To be taken home

To become Jack O Lanterns.

It’s that time of year

When the earth settles down

And prepares for the  long

Winter sleep ahead

As Fall sings a lilting lullaby

In the cool autumn breezes.

It’s that time of year

When Summer waves a warm good bye

And Autumn arrives

In her  colorful

coat of many colors

And a cool frosty kiss.

It’s that time of year.
